About the Neighborhood Garage Sale
The MBHO’s 17th Annual 2026 Meadow Brook Yard Sale will be Saturday morning, October 3, 2026, from 8 AM–12 PM.
We have had a tremendous response from Meadow Brook residents in the previous 16 years of our Neighborhood Sale. Each year we have had 50+ homeowners participating in the MBHO-sponsored Meadow Brook Neighborhood Yard Sale. We expect similar participation this year.
Important information for participants
Your Own Marketing
Each year the most successful sales tend to be those that have done their own marketing and those that cluster with neighbors to have multiple sales around them. Advertising on Craigslist or Facebook has proven to be the highest return on your time and money. Like the Meadow Brook Home Owners Facebook page and link to it. Any additional advertising via the newspaper or online is at each participant’s own expense and responsibility. This is recommended to get shoppers to your specific home.
Signs
“Neighborhood Yard Sale” signs will be placed at neighborhood entrances to advertise the sales. Each participant will need to create their own yard sign and/or use the recommended balloon. MBHO signs will also be posted in high-traffic locations in nearby neighborhoods and areas during the week to draw more shoppers on Saturday. Please remove any directional arrows or signs you put up immediately following the sale.
Balloons
Participating homes will be designated with a yellow Mylar smiley-face balloon to provide a consistent look throughout the neighborhood. Balloons will be available for purchase at the Dollar Tree next to Lowe’s in the Brook Highland shopping mall.
Word of Mouth
To make the sale successful for everyone, we need to draw a large number of shoppers. Please spread the word with friends, co-workers, at church, and elsewhere. Participants can email local friends and family with a link to mbho.org. Share the Yard Sale information and/or the MBHO link on Facebook, area trading sites, and Nextdoor Neighbor.
